MAX31723MUA+ is a digital thermometer and thermostat with an SPI/3-wire interface that provides temperature readings that indicate the device's temperature. No additional components are required; this device is truly a temperature-to-digital converter. Temperature readings are communicated from the device over an SPI interface or a 3-wire serial interface. The choice of interface is selectable by the user. For applications that require greater temperature resolution, the user can adjust the readout resolution from 9 to 12 bits. This is particularly useful in applications where thermal runaway conditions must be detected quickly. The thermostat has a dedicated open-drain output (TOUT). Two thermostat operating modes, comparator and interrupt, control thermostat operation based on user-defined non-volatile trip points (THIGH and TLOW). It is used in applications such as networking equipment, cellular base stations, industrial equipment, and thermally sensitive systems.

- EEPROM write cycle time is 15ms maximum at (-40°C to +85°C)
- Resolution is 12bits maximum at (VDD = 1.7V to 3.7V, TJ = -55°C to +125°C)
- Conversion time is 200ms maximum at (12bit conversions, TJ = -55°C to +125°C)
- Operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, 8µMAX package
