The Portenta X8 is a powerful, industrial-grade SOM that combines Arduino real-time capabilities with high performance processing via the preloaded Linux OS. The compact form factor houses a total of 9 cores for impressive capabilities within a single module. Onboard WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity allows you to securely perform OTA system and application updates. Leverage popular programming languages to deploy powerful AI algorithms and machine learning on the edge.
- Portenta X8 makes use of two phsical ARM-based processing units
- NXP i.MX 8M Mini processor (Cortex-A53 quad core, up to 1.8GHz per core & Cortex-M4 up to 400MHz
- STM32H747XI microcontroller (Cortex M7 up to 480MHz with FPU & Cortex M4 up to 240MHz with FPU)
- 2GB Low power DDR4 RAM and 16GB Forsee eMMC flash module
- Open-source Linux microPlatform OS
- Supports popular programming languages including Python, Java and Ruby
- Murata 1DX WiFi (802.11b/g/n) & Bluetooth (v5.1 BR/EDR/BLE) module
- NXP SE050C2 Hardware security chip provides onboard Crypto capabilities and secure storage
- Comprehensive connectivity via high density connectors including 3x I2C, 4x PWM, 7x GPIO and 8x ADC inputs
- Gigabit Ethernet controller with EEE support (requires physical connector to complete interface)
- Real time clock (RTC) with very low power consumption
- Multiple connectivity options via USB-C
- Compatible with other Arduino Portenta products
