The MAX487CUA+ is a low power, slew rate limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin µMAX package. It contains one driver and one receiver. This reduced slew rate driver minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, thus allowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps. The driver is short circuit current limited and is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state. It features fail-safe circuitry which has a logic high receiver output when the receiver input is open.
- Supply voltage range from 4.75V to 5.25V
- Operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
- Designed for half duplex communication
- Low current shutdown mode consume 0.1μA current
- Features receiver/driver enable function
- Quiescent current is 120μA
- Quarter unit load receiver input impedance
- Allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus
