AD5172BRMZ2.5 is a dual-channel, 256-position, one-time programmable (OTP) digital potentiometer that employs fuse link technology to achieve memory retention of resistance settings. The digital potentiometer, VR, and RDAC terms are used interchangeably. OTP is a cost-effective alternative to EEMEM for users who do not need to program the digital potentiometer setting in memory more than once. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers or variable resistors but with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability, and superior low-temperature coefficient performance. It is used in applications such as systems calibration, electronics level setting, mechanical trimmers replacement in new designs, permanent factory PCB setting, transducer adjustment of pressure, temperature, position, chemical, and optical sensors, RF amplifier biasing, gain control, and offset adjustment.

• Shutdown supply current is 0.01µA typical at (VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
• OTP overwrite allows dynamic adjustments with user defined preset
• Full read/write of wiper register, power-on preset to midscale, RAB is 2.5Kohm
• Single supply voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V, wiper resistance is 160 ohm typical
• Resistor differential nonlinearity is ±0.1LSB typical at (VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
• Resistance temperature coefficient is 35ppm/°C typical at (VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
• Supply current is 3.5µA typical at (VIH = 5V or VIL = 0V, VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
• 4.8MHz typical -3dB bandwidth at (code = 0x80, VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 10-lead MSOP package
