LT3465A is a step-up DC/DC converter designed to drive up to six LEDs in series from a Li-Ion cell. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents and eliminates the need for ballast resistors. This device integrates the Schottky diode required externally on competing devices. Additional features include output voltage limiting when LEDs are disconnected, one-pin shutdown and dimming control. This switches at 2.4MHz. Application includes cellular phones, PDAs, handheld computers, digital cameras, MP3 players, GPS receivers.

• Open LED protection
• Minimum operating voltage is 2.7V (TA = 25°C, VIN = 3V, VCTRL = 3V)
• Typical feedback voltage is 200mV (0°C ≤ TA ≤ 85°C, TA = 25°C)
• Supply current range from 1.9 to 3.3mA (not switching, TA = 25°C)
• Switching frequency range from 1.8 to 2.8MHz (TA = 25°C, VIN = 3V, VCTRL = 3V)
• Typical schottky forward drop is 0.7V (ID = 150mA, TA = 25°C)
• 6-lead plastic TSOT-23 S6 package
• Temperature rating range from -40°C to 85°C
