The 9001037-2 is a 2m grey standard GPIB Cable. It is a digital interface for programmable instrumentation/measurement devices control. IEEE488.2 and SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) extend the original standard in terms of data transmission protocols or device commands. Today IEEE488 interfaces are typically used for high-end instrumentation. Despite - or perhaps because of its long existence is IEEE488 proven a million times, reliability and operational safety. Unlike other bus systems, there is only one type of connectors with IEEE488, because this simplifies things considerably. It is a 24-pin centronics type connector-to-connector piggyback function. This star and series connections can be made easily and without additional adapters.
